Eid gift ads for Islamic gift shops: Ramadan and Eid timing and creative
When Islamic gift shops should run Ramadan and Eid gift ads, which gift angles to use, honest delivery deadlines, and how to show religious items respectfully.

Short answer
Run Islamic gift shop ads in three waves: Ramadan essentials before Ramadan starts (expected around 8 February 2027), Eid gifts from the middle of Ramadan, and real last-order dates in the final ten days before Eid (expected 9 or 10 March 2027). Sell by recipient and budget, and keep Quran verses out of your sales copy.
An Islamic gift shop has two jobs in Ramadan: selling the things people use during the month, and selling the gifts they give at Eid. Run them as separate waves. Ramadan essentials such as prayer mats, calendars, children's activity books and decorations need to be in front of people before Ramadan starts, expected around 8 February 2027. Eid gifts take over from the middle of Ramadan, and the final week is about delivery deadlines.
The ads that work tell a busy person what to buy for whom, at what price, by when. The ones that cause problems use sacred text as a slogan or invent urgency. This guide covers both.
When should an Islamic gift shop run Ramadan and Eid ads?
Start three to four weeks before Ramadan, because many buyers plan early. In a 2023 MENA survey by TGM Research cited by Google, 1 in 5 people said they start preparing for Ramadan three to four weeks before it begins, and 46% said they were increasing their gifting budget (Google).
| Wave | Expected dates (2027) | What to advertise |
|---|---|---|
| 1. Ramadan essentials | 11 Jan to 7 Feb | Prayer mats, Ramadan calendars, children's books and activity packs, decorations, iftar tableware |
| 2. Eid gifts | 15 Feb to 1 Mar | Gift guides by recipient and budget, hampers, personalised items |
| 3. Last orders | 1 to 8 Mar | Your real delivery cut-off, click and collect, digital gift cards |
| 4. Eid al-Adha | Late April to mid-May | Gifts for hosts, for pilgrims returning from Hajj, second Eid gift guide |
Eid al-Fitr is expected on 9 March 2027 by the Fiqh Council of North America's calculation, and Eid al-Adha on 16 May 2027 by the Umm al-Qura calendar (moonsighting.com). Malaysia (Human Resources Online) and Indonesia expect Eid al-Fitr on 10 March (Setneg). In the UK, mosques that follow local moon sighting may celebrate a day later than the calculated date. Set your delivery promises against the earliest likely date, not the latest.

Which gift angles work best in Eid ads?
Sell by recipient and by budget. People do not search for "Islamic gifts" in general; they need something for a particular person at a particular price. Meta and YouGov found that 60% of shoppers in Saudi Arabia and 71% in the UAE said personalised product and gift suggestions made Ramadan shopping easier (Arab News, reporting a 2022 Meta study).
The occasion is also large in Western markets. The UK think tank Equi estimates Ramadan's economic impact in the UK at £1.3 billion a year, including about £640 million in retail spending on larger gatherings, Eid clothing and gifts (Equi, February 2026).
Angles to build separate ads around:
- By recipient: for parents, for grandparents, for a child's first fast, for an iftar host, for a teacher, for colleagues, for a new neighbour.
- By budget: a clear "under £15", "under £30" and "under £60" set, each with three products pictured.
- By moment: iftar hosting, Eid morning, Eid visits, gifts for pilgrims returning from Hajj.
- Personalised: names on prayer mats, children's books or Eid boxes. Put the personalisation cut-off in the ad, since it is earlier than your normal one.
Example ads for a made-up shop
These are examples for an imaginary shop called Baytul Gifts.
| Ad | Headline | Primary text |
|---|---|---|
| Recipient | Eid gifts for grandparents, under £30 | Large-print dua cards, a soft travel prayer mat and a dates tin. Gift-wrapped, with a handwritten note if you want one. |
| Budget | Ten Eid gifts under £15 | Stocking fillers for cousins, colleagues and neighbours. Order by 3 March for UK delivery before Eid. |
| Child | A first fast gift box | A sticker chart, a children's Ramadan story book and a small lantern. Ages 5 to 9. |
| Personalised | Prayer mats embroidered with a name | Order by 24 February for embroidery and delivery before Eid. |
Each ad names the person, the price or the age, and a date. For more ideas across categories, see Ramadan ad ideas.
How should religious items appear in ads?
Show the item clearly and describe it plainly, and do not use sacred text as advertising copy. The UK Advertising Standards Authority's guidance says religious imagery or language "may be considered acceptable, provided it is not mocking or disrespectful", but that ads which "seem to exploit religious imagery for purely commercial purposes can be problematic" (ASA).
Islamic scholarship urges similar care. A fatwa from the Federal Territories Mufti in Malaysia, gazetted in 2021, states that "the use of verses of the Quran for the purpose of promoting a product is not allowed" (Skrine). Jordan's iftaa department has said religious phrases should not be used to promote a business, because sacred names should be kept from being degraded (Darul Iftaa Jordan via IslamQA).
There is a difference between selling a product that contains sacred text and using sacred text to sell. "Ayat al-Kursi calligraphy print, A3, framed in oak" describes what the customer receives. A verse printed across a discount banner uses the verse as a slogan. Scholars may see particular cases differently, so ask one you trust about your own range. Our guide on Quran verses in advertising sets out the sources.
Practical rules for product photos:
- Photograph a mushaf on a stand or a clean, raised surface, never on the floor or beside shoes.
- Keep calligraphy legible and uncropped, so no word is cut in half.
- Do not place discount stickers or prices over Arabic religious text.
- Products-only images avoid most other questions about who appears in your ads.
How do you write honest Eid deadlines?
Use your courier's real cut-off and nothing else. The UK's CAP Code says marketers "must not falsely state that a product, or the terms on which it is offered, will be available only for a limited time" (CAP Code, rule 3.30). A delivery deadline that really exists is useful information. A countdown that resets every night is a false claim.
The Prophet warned traders against using oaths to push a sale: "Beware of swearing; it produces a ready sale for a commodity, but blots out the blessing" (Sahih Muslim 1607). Phrases like "wallahi the best quality" or "I swear you won't find cheaper" have no place in an ad.
Before and after: a last-week ad
Before (example): "LAST CHANCE. Wallahi our Eid boxes are the best in the UK. Only 3 left, sale ends at midnight."
After (example): "Order by Wednesday 3 March for UK delivery before Eid. After that, collect in store until 8 March or send a digital gift card."
The second version gives three real options and keeps the customer once the deadline has passed. More examples are in our guide on fake urgency, oaths and invented reviews.
Can you target Muslims with Eid gift ads?
No, and you do not need to. Meta removed religion-related detailed targeting options from January 2022 (Meta). Its personal attributes rule also means your ad must not assert or imply the viewer's religion (Meta). "Eid gifts for family and friends" is fine. "Are you Muslim? Shop Eid gifts" is not.
Target by location, by language and by retargeting people who visited your shop. The product photos and the word Eid will do the rest.
If you sell in Indonesia, note that Government Regulation 40 of 2026 gives Muslim worship equipment, clothing and accessories until 17 October 2028 to obtain halal certification (BPJPH). Do not describe a product as halal in your ads until it is certified.
What size should Eid gift ad images be?
Use a 4:5 image for feeds and 9:16 for Stories. Meta's Ads Guide recommends 1440 x 1800 pixels for 4:5 feed images and 1440 x 2560 for 9:16 Stories, and 1080 x 1350 and 1080 x 1920 are the same shapes at lower resolution (Meta feed, Meta Stories). For Stories, keep text out of roughly the top 14% and bottom 35% of the frame. A gift guide reads best as one hero product with two or three smaller items and the price tier in large type.
Eid gift ad checklist
- Launch Ramadan essentials ads by mid-January and Eid gift guides by mid-Ramadan.
- Build at least three ads by recipient and three by budget, each with a price and a picture of the actual product.
- Put your real delivery and personalisation cut-offs in the final ten days of ads, plus a fallback such as collection or a gift card.
- Remove countdowns that are not real, oaths and invented stock levels.
- Describe religious items factually. Do not use verses or sacred phrases as slogans.
- Keep the reader's faith out of the copy. Speak to the occasion and the recipient.
- Plan a second wave for Eid al-Adha, expected around 16 May 2027.
Adrizq can draft a set of Eid gift ads from your shop's product pages, using products-only imagery if you choose it, and flags invented urgency and religious wording used as a sales line.
Frequently asked questions
When should I start Eid gift ads?
Start Eid gift guides from the middle of Ramadan, around 15 February 2027 if Ramadan begins on the expected date of 8 February. Ramadan essentials such as prayer mats and calendars should be advertised three to four weeks before Ramadan. The last ten days before Eid, expected on 9 or 10 March 2027, should focus on real delivery cut-offs and fallbacks like gift cards.
Can I put Quran verses on my gift shop ads?
It is best not to use verses as advertising copy. A 2021 fatwa from Malaysia's Federal Territories Mufti states that using Quran verses to promote a product is not allowed, and the UK's ASA warns against exploiting religious imagery for purely commercial purposes. Describing a product that contains a verse, such as a calligraphy print, is different. Ask a scholar you trust about your specific case.
Is 'order by Friday for Eid delivery' fake urgency?
No, if it is true. A real courier deadline is useful information for the customer. It becomes a problem when the deadline is invented or keeps moving, which the UK's CAP Code rule 3.30 forbids. Use the cut-off your courier has confirmed, keep it the same across all ads, and offer a fallback such as collection or a digital gift card once it passes.
Can I say 'Eid gifts for Muslims' in a Facebook ad?
Phrases about gifts for an occasion are usually fine, but Meta's rules forbid content that asserts or implies the viewer's religion. 'Are you Muslim?' or 'For Muslims like you' are likely to be rejected. 'Eid gifts for family and friends' or 'Eid gifts under £30' sell the same products without addressing the viewer's faith. You also cannot target by religion on Meta.
Which gift ideas sell best for Eid?
There is no reliable public sales ranking for Islamic gift shops, so use your own order history. What helps buyers is structure: ads organised by recipient, such as grandparents, children or iftar hosts, and by price band. Meta and YouGov research in Saudi Arabia and the UAE found most shoppers said personalised gift suggestions made Ramadan shopping easier.
